Advocate is a personal medical assistant delivered over SMS, operated by Chad
Anderson (Anderson Innovations) — "the operator". By replying YES to the
first message, you agree to these terms. They are short and written to be read.
Advocate keeps track of your prescriptions, appointments and the admin around them, and sends you a short message each morning listing only what needs you. You reply in plain language, or with a number, to act on something. With your explicit approval each time, it can telephone a pharmacy or a doctor's office on your behalf.
It is provided free of charge, to invited individuals only, as a personal favour rather than as a commercial product. There is no fee, no subscription, and no signup form.
Advocate handles logistics, never clinical decisions. It does not diagnose, does not recommend treatment, does not tell you whether to take something or how much, and does not interpret symptoms or results. If you ask it a clinical question it will say so and point you back to your clinician, by design.
Nothing it sends is a substitute for professional medical judgement. Always talk to a qualified clinician about your care. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number — do not text this service. It is not monitored in real time and cannot help you urgently.
YES to the first message. Both are required; nothing beyond that
first message is sent until you reply.STOP at any time to any message. You will receive nothing
further. Reply START to opt back in. Reply PAUSE to
mute messages temporarily without opting out, and RESUME to
restore them.HELP, or email
chadander@gmail.com.Some actions reach another human being — a call to a pharmacy, a message to a doctor's office. Those are always described to you first and wait for your approval. The service does not place calls you have not agreed to. Calls it does place are not recorded; only a short written summary of the outcome is kept.
You remain responsible for your own medical care and decisions. The service can chase a refill; it cannot be responsible for whether a pharmacy fills it, whether an office calls back, or whether you take what you are prescribed.
What is collected and who receives it is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: nothing is sold, nothing is shared for marketing, and mobile opt-in data is never shared with anyone.
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. It is a personal project run on a private server by one person. It may be unavailable, delayed, or wrong. Messages may not arrive. Nothing here promises that it will work, and it should never be the only thing standing between you and a medication you need.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Because it is provided free of charge, total liability for any claim is limited to zero dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
You may stop at any time by replying STOP; no notice or explanation is
needed. The operator may end the service, for you or entirely, at any time — this is a
personal project and may simply stop. If that happens you will be told, and you can ask
for your information to be deleted.
If these terms change materially you will be told by text before the change takes effect, and continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the change. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
